Friend in Blue

I cased this layout from Stampin' Up!'s demonstrator magazine, which always has some great ideas in it. I used Marina Mist for the base, which is a one of the fabulous new colors.  Friends 24-7 has a great variety of stamps in it and it's still one of my favs!  I stamped the bird image first in Soft Suede on Naturals White card stock, masked it, then stamped over it with the filigree in Daffodil Delight. Lastly, I stamped the sentiments in Marina Mist.  I liked the look of the crumpled Old Olive paper under the tag and here's the trick I came up with: mist a piece of card stock with an alcohol/water mixture, crumple it well then flatten it out.  Pick at one of the corners and separate the piece into two thinner pieces. While it's still damp, crumple it around the tag, let it dry, then attach it.  The tag is popped up on dimensionals and the it's tied up with linen thread and a designer button.  Happy Stamping! 

 

Lush Salon

Congratulations to my fabulous hairdresser, Lisa Evans-Clark, who is opening her new salon today at Sola Salon Studio in Charlotte, NC.  Check out her Facebook page: Lush Salon! 

I used her business card for inspiration to create this special card for her.  I used one of Stampin' Up!'s new colors, Cajun Craze, for the card base and swirls and Basic Gray for the accents.  Baroque Motifs seemed like the  perfect set to use and then I ran the stamped image through the Big Shot using the Perfect Details Texturz plate.  I also added some tiny half pearls to the center of the flowers.

 

Friends in New Colors

 I created this card to showcase some of the new colors: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Early Expresso.  I used Friends 24-7 (113218) and EnFracais (109521) and the new Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (120175)  for the panels.  I also used the Vanilla Smooch Spritz (118772) on the embossed panel which gives it a neat shimmer.  The Smooch Spritz also comes in gold, silver and log cabin (brown)  and you can layer thin coats of different colors for even more dimension.

New Catalog - New Colors!

Elements of Style (C 120045) in the Summer Mini Catalog is my new favorite set!  The design possibilities are endless with this set and if you want a set to last forever this one is it.  Here I used Marina Mist as the base.  The next layer is Soft Suede that I stamped in the same color then ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate (115962.)   The main image has several stamped "layers":  En Francais (109521) then the scroll design in Crumb Cake, topped with the floral design in Soft Suede.  I distressed the edges, adhered it to this fabulous new color, Cherry Cobbler, and added a piece of Vanilla satin ribbon.  Check out the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog by clicking the link in the sidebar and order online 24-7!  Happy Stamping!
